Wall Pours

The first wall section of the Biological treatment structure was poured on Friday. The walls of this structure are 20 feet high and are split up into 17 separate pours. Each section is about 60 feet in length and will require approximately 70 cubic yards of concrete. While one crew pours the wall, other crews will be busy tying rebar and setting forms for the subsequent wall sections. The plan is to complete 2-3 wall section pours per week.

Another 43 linear feet of wall section was poured on the Operations Building on Tuesday of this week. The wall section is 26 feet high and used 85 cubic yards of concrete. The only remaining section of wall is the wet well. This is where the treated water will go to be pumped to the Big Sioux River.
