Biological Treatment Basin Floor Pour

On Wednesday PKG poured the floor and mat structure of the Biological Treatment Basin. The pour took 11 hours and consisted of 1,052 cubic yards (2,100 tons) of concrete, which averages out to just over 95 cubic yards per hour, or 10 trucks per hour. For the pour PKG utilized two concrete pump trucks and two laser screeds. The pump trucks place the concrete in the desired location quickly and efficiently, saving significant labor time and cost. The laser screeds smooth the concrete, as well as keep the floor at the exact elevation required. After screeding the floor it was finished by hand with steel trowels.
